Check whether the information in your CV can be read and organised reliably by common applicant-tracking systems.

My CV follows a simple reading order.A recruiter can move from contact details to summary, skills, experience and education without searching around the page.I use standard section headings.Labels such as Professional Summary, Work Experience, Education and Skills are clearer than creative alternatives.All important information is real, selectable text.My name, dates, job titles and achievements are not placed inside images, scanned pages or decorative graphics.The formatting supports the content.I use readable fonts, consistent spacing and restrained design without text boxes, rating bars or unnecessary icons.I will submit the requested file type.I have checked whether the employer asks for PDF or DOCX and will follow the application instructions.

A readable CV still needs to make your fit for this particular opportunity easy to understand.

My target direction is clear within the first third of the CV.The headline and summary point towards the work I want instead of listing several unrelated professional identities.My summary is relevant to the target role.It reflects the problems I can solve, the environment I understand and the strongest evidence I bring.I have used important job-description language naturally.Relevant tools, skills and responsibilities appear where they are genuinely supported—not as copied keyword lists.My most important skills are demonstrated in my experience.The reader can find examples of how I used the skills, not only see them named in a separate section.The most relevant information receives the most space.Recent and role-aligned experience is detailed, while older or less relevant information is kept concise.

Evidence and accuracy

Strong applications show what you owned, how you worked and what changed—without inventing achievements.

My experience bullets go beyond copied duties.They communicate actions, ownership, decisions, improvements or outcomes rather than repeatedly saying ‘responsible for’.I show credible scope where it adds meaning.Team size, customer volume, markets, response times, revenue, portfolio size or other context is included when I can verify it.My strongest claims are supported by examples.Statements about leadership, communication, efficiency or customer experience are connected to actual work.Dates, titles, tense and formatting are consistent.There are no unexplained date conflicts, spelling variations or formatting changes that create doubt.Everything is truthful and carefully proofread.I can confidently explain every claim in an interview, and I have checked grammar, spelling and contact details.
