About the role
GiveDirectly is hiring a procurement manager to own phone sourcing across its country programmes. The role turns demand forecasts into purchase plans, manages suppliers and orders, and keeps price, delivery and device quality on track.
Location eligibility: GiveDirectly prefers Nairobi or another country where it operates. Review the listed country options before applying.
Responsibilities
What you will do
- Build rolling phone-demand forecasts with programme and country procurement teams.
- Translate demand into purchase timelines that limit stockouts and excess inventory.
- Manage supplier communication, sourcing exercises and vendor performance.
- Track purchase orders, payments, invoice issues, returns, warranties and defective devices.
- Report delivery performance, savings and programme satisfaction while escalating supply risks early.
Requirements
What you will bring
- At least two years in procurement, supply chain, vendor management or category management.
- Experience with demand forecasting and purchase-order management.
- Strong negotiation skills and evidence of managing supplier relationships and disputes.
- Experience coordinating across countries, time zones and functions.
- Professional experience in at least one African country is required for applicants based outside Africa.
- Fluent English and strong alignment with GiveDirectly’s values.
